Company – About Us
Changing Seas combines lifetimes of experience with the latest developments in sustainable aquaculture. Our commitment to the best and healthiest practices enables us to promote responsible stewardship of the world's oceans while bringing you the best of their bounty.
Our farmers know that what is best for your health, the health of the ocean and the health of their own livelihoods is to farm sustainably. They do not use hormones. They do not crowd fish in pens or use antibiotics to control disease outbreaks. Instead, they use round pens, farm in deep waters with strong tidal currents, and maintain populations at low-density to keep fish naturally fit and healthy. Their fishing practices do not produce the bycatch which has devastated not only fish stocks, but also other species such as turtles, albatross, dolphins and sharks.
Our Norwegian salmon farmers use computerized feeding machines which only feed the fish what they need, and do not dump excess into open water, instead drawing it out to be recycled. Our shrimp supplier, Minh Phu, shows how the health of the environment can be healthy for industry; Minh Phu farmers re-plant the mangroves to raise shrimp that then need no feed, on farms that have no carbon footprint . Our farmers take note of how Nature loves balance and work to replicate that balance in the way they raise their fish. This is how we can bring you the best seafood in the world and for the world.
Our goal is to bring you delicious, clean seafood by promoting this low-impact, responsible approach. We only work with farmers who adhere to our stringent standards, and we are confident that what we offer in selling their environmentally clean products will satisfy the organic standards when they are published. This is a new generation of fish farming pioneers; many of them are also trained marine biologists. All of them share our dedication to quality and responsibility. We see this as the beginning of a revolution in production, in practice and in taste. Why wish for cleaner fish when you can have it?
